December: CW Productions Distro Update

Available now in the distro, the new Furdidurke 10", as well as the Cirrhus LP from earlier in the year, and tapes from Grand Mood and Kestrel. All four showcase some of the most truly exceptional black metal from recent times. BtR will be keeping regular stock of CW records and tapes. We won't be getting in any Raspberry Bulbs LPs that was mentioned in the last update, due to indie label 'industry' workings. Next week I'll be picking up a armful of the latest releases from Spencer Clark / Monopoly Child Star Searchers / Vodka Soap etc, expect another update very soon.

November

Small but somewhat substantial distro update. Great new 10" from Moss, aswell as a well made and band approved bootleg version of last years Horrible Night on tape (don't ask where I got them). Also for people who eat (IE, everyone) we have a bunch of Vegan Slime II zines in, I think I got the last few from Tom and Loz. Also finally got that Please Don't Feed the Bears restock.

Coming soon to the distro will be new records by Raspberry Bulbs, Furdidurke, the Cirrhus LP from earlier in the year and a bunch of Noothgrush stuff from Fuck Yoga. Label wise, lots of plans are bubbling away as always.

Autumnal Update

Small distro update with Culver's "Gateshead Graves" LP on Fabrica, the debut Snob 7" that came out in the summer and the final cassette release from Panzram. Please Don't Feed the Bears sold out quicker than expected but a restock is already on the way.

In official BtR news, we've got a bunch of exciting cassette releases lined up. More info on what exactly pretty soon, all we're saying right now is we'll be using Screaming Mesh a hell of a lot. First batch should be ready by the years out.

Good to see the end of the summer gig glut, plenty to get our teeth into in the coming months.

Yet Another Please Don't Feed the Bears Restock

That's right, more copies of Please Don't Feed the Bears (aka, best cookbook ever) are now in and available at the BtR store. Comes with a BtR bookmark too.

New Workin' Man Noise Unit tape + more Wölfbait + Big Cartel returns

In what must be one of the quickest releases yet for BtR, we now have another tape for you from WORKIN' MAN NOISE UNIT. "Cack Sabbath Vol 420" is a three track homage Tony, Geezer, Bill and Ozzy. Cheap, somewhat cheerful (it was recorded drunk in Jamie's front room) and fucked around with in that wholesome Workin' Man way. Dom's now a graphic designer too.

Also up for order is the new WÖLFBAIT tape all the way from the USA, this one looks (and sounds) incredible. If Mob Rules have the tshirt of the year, then Wölfbait have the patch of the year, I can't stop touching it (does anyone else sew an embroidered patch next to their pockets so they can run their fingers over them once in a while? I do, it feels real nice). Superb job from Ryan Aircraft of Anthems of the Undesirable on these.

Against my better jugement, I've reinstated the Big Cartel page for orders. That shop page was getting frustrating, and things are picking up a little on the BC. I hope people weren't favouring automation over BtR emails. Any way, it should be a little smoother over there now, on the rare occassion shipping seems out of whack, just email me the order and I'll sort it out.

Should be getting a restock of PLEASE DON'T FEED THE BEARS real soon, tell all your vegan friends.

Iron Lung Records Distro Update

These just in:

GAS CHAMBER Hemorrhaging Light LP + flexi
DEMONBROTHER Beyond the Veil 12"
FLESH WORLD - A Line in Wet Grass 7"
GAG - Lockeroom 7"
NUDES - Stain 7"

An absolutely cracking lot from the Lung HQ, is it too early to call the Gas Chamber LP hardcore album of the year? Certainly a contender. The Flesh World 7" is a nice surprise too, for some reason I thought that would be real noisy stuff, how wrong I was. Head to the shop page to purchase and to listen.

Happy 100th Birthday to the Greatest

Instead of working away at the latest label / distro update today, I've been celebrating the life and times of Sun Ra, who was 'born' 100 years ago today.

May Update

Do excuse the quiet spell on here, it's been nothing but quiet here at the BtR HQ what with all the Workin' Man Noise Unit orders (thank you to everyone that's ordered) and a ton of cassette projects. Next week will see the release of the CULVER triple tape set and the SETE STAR SEPT / TWO MILLION TONS OF SHIT split tape, along with a massive distro update. Some of you may already be enjoying that split if I bumped into you drunk at Temples Festival last weekend.

Along with the All Dead Tapes / Sick Head deadstock update I've got a few GOOD THROB LPs in too, aswell as a bunch of SCUMHEADS, STRONG BOYS and GAZE tapes on their way from Dogs and Vultures over in Ireland. Oh and copies of the recent NADIR tape, which I'm pretty sure will be one of the releases of the year, musically and visually.

Here's a preview of the 7S7 / 2MTOS split, artwork by Gaz:

Yellow Mind Tonight...

It is with great pleause the I can finally announce the release of the debut 7" by Reading's WORKIN' MAN NOISE UNIT. Yellow Mind contains three tracks and comes on yellow vinyl with hand stamped labels. There's a release gig for the 7" TONIGHT which will be the first place to buy the record. It'll be available to order for the rest of you this coming monday / tuesday. Also being released by BtR is both of their previous very well recieved tapes on one handy cassette, which will be available at the same time as the 7" next week (and tonight of course):

Finally, here's the flyer for tonights event. It's going to be a hellish journey to Reading, but I guess that's a fitting way to travel.

Calm Before the Storm

The BtR store is moving away from Big Cartel and will go through this site from now on. I'll still keep a few things on the BC page just incase any one has it bookmarked, there's no point keeping it open when most people buy from Discogs right now. The main store page will be on this blog very soon, I just have to get it all figured out and working well, which will be in a week or two.

When it is up and running, I'll have a big update with a load of Sump / All Dead Tapes stuff, some left overs from Sick Head tapes, and the next three BtR releases, one of which hasn't been announced yet. More info on that very soon.

The Workin' Man Noise Unit 7" will be here any day now and will be ready for the release gig at South Street Arts Centre in Reading on february 7th.
